About Ardeadoris angustolutea (Rudman, 1990)

Ardeadoris angustolutea is a species of sea slug first described by Rudman in 1990. For this species, the mantle is almost translucent white, and the mantle border ranges in color from opaque white to orange-yellow. A more opaque line runs along the body midline, extending from the rhinophores to the posterior branchia (gills). The rhinophores and branchia have an orange-brown tint. This species was originally described from Ruby Reef, located at 15.733°S 145.783°E on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia. It lives in tropical Indo-West Pacific regions, with confirmed sightings recorded from the Philippines, Thailand, Guam, Hawaii, and the Marshall Islands. The exact food source of this sea slug is still unknown, but the type specimen was found on a purple sponge species, which is likely its food.
