About Arctanthemum integrifolium (Richardson) Tzvelev
Arctanthemum integrifolium (Richardson) Tzvelev is a perennial herb that rarely grows more than 12 cm (4.7 in) tall. It has a woody underground caudex and a basal rosette of leaves. Each plant usually produces just one flower head, which blooms in summer. This flower head holds 11–19 white ray flowers, which surround 60–80 yellow disc flowers. This species grows in alpine zones, and is most commonly found on gravelly sites, arctic tundra, and exposed areas with low organic content including rock, sand, and gravel. It cannot grow well in areas near the sea, or any areas exposed to salt spray.
