Arbacia stellata, commonly known as the black starry sea urchin, is a species of sea urchin belonging to the family Arbaciidae. It is classified under the genus Arbacia and is an aquatic marine species. Like other sea urchins, its hard outer armour is covered in spines. While its scientific name is attributed to Gmelin 1872, it was first formally described scientifically in 1825 by Blainville.
