About Arachnothera magna (Hodgson, 1836)

This species, scientifically named Arachnothera magna (Hodgson, 1836), is around the same size as a sparrow. Its overall base color is olive yellow, marked with multiple darker streaks across its body. It has a long, curved black beak and yellow legs. The underparts of its body are pale yellow, streaked with black. Its beak is specially adapted to allow it to feed on a nectar-based diet. This species is distributed across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Within India, it occurs in the country's eastern states. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical montane forest.
