Apterona helicoidella, commonly called the snailcase bagworm, is a moth species that belongs to the family Psychidae. This species has a wide distribution across Europe. It ranges from Portugal, through most of central Europe and the Alps, all the way east to the Ural Mountains. It can also be found in the Balkan region and Turkey. It was accidentally introduced into the United States in the 1940s, and today it occurs in many mid-Atlantic states of the country.
