About Apolygus spinolae (H.Meyer-Dur, 1841)
The scientific name of this species is Apolygus spinolae (H.Meyer-Dur, 1841). Adult individuals of Apolygus spinolae measure between 5 and 6 millimetres, which equals 0.20 to 0.24 inches, in length. The species has a black underside, green upper body, and a brownish back. In terms of ecology, Apolygus spinolae feeds on a wide range of different plant species. Known host plants it feeds on include bog-myrtle (Myrica gale), bramble (Rubus), creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense), meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), and nettle (Urtica). This species is active from June through September each year.
