The banded toadfish, with the scientific name Aphos porosus, is a species of toadfish. It occurs along the Pacific coast of South America, specifically in Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. This species reaches a maximum total length of 28 centimetres, which is equivalent to 11 inches. Aphos porosus is the only species in the genus Aphos, making the genus monotypic. Within its subfamily, the banded toadfish lacks photophores, which is different from the other toadfish genus in the same subfamily, Porichthys.
