About Antiopella barbarensis (J.G.Cooper, 1863)

Antiopella barbarensis, whose common name is Santa Barbara janolus, is a colourful sea slug. It is a cladobranch nudibranch, which is a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Janolidae. This nudibranch is commonly found on the Pacific coast, inhabiting tide pools in La Jolla, California. Its populations also extend into some parts of Costa Rica. In 1991, Behrens recorded the full distribution range as extending from San Francisco Bay to Baja California, including the Gulf of California, Mexico.
