About Antigastra catalaunalis (Duponchel, 1833)
Antigastra catalaunalis (Duponchel, 1833) has a wingspan of 19–22 mm. Its forewings are pale yellow, with veins and margins suffused with ferruginous color that sometimes almost entirely obscures the pale yellow ground color. The forewing lines are ferruginous; the second line is strongly curved outwards across its upper two-thirds. The small orbicular and discal spots on the forewings are fuscous. The forewing cilia are whitish, with a dark fuscous base. The hindwings are yellowish whitish with a ferruginous tinge; the termen is more heavily colored with ferruginous. The larvae of this species feed on Antirrhinum (snapdragon) species, common toadflax (Linaria vulgaris), Tecoma (trumpetbush) species, and other species from the plant families Scrophulariaceae and Pedaliaceae.
