About Anthrax irroratus Say, 1823
Anthrax irroratus is a species of bee fly that belongs to the family Bombyliidae. This species has a wide distribution across North America. It can be found throughout most of Canada and the United States, ranging as far north as Alaska and the Northwest Territories, and extending south into Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Puerto Rico. The larvae of Anthrax irroratus are parasitoids that develop on a variety of solitary bees and wasps, from at least five different taxonomic families.
