About Anthoscopus minutus (Shaw, 1812)

The Cape penduline tit, also called the southern penduline tit, has the scientific name Anthoscopus minutus (Shaw, 1812). It is a bird species that belongs to the family Remizidae. This species can be found in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are dry savannah, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation. Measuring eight centimetres (3 inches) in length, it is one of the smallest bird species found in Africa. It shares this distinction with its close relatives, the grey penduline tit and the mouse-coloured penduline tit.
