About Anthericum liliago L.

Anthericum liliago L. is a vigorous herbaceous flowering perennial with tuberous roots. It grows 60–90 cm (2.0–3.0 ft) tall, with narrowly linear leaves that measure 12–40 cm (4.7–15.7 in) long. In spring and summer, it produces racemes holding 6 to 10 lily-like white flowers.

For cultivation, Anthericum liliago grows best in well-drained soil located in a sunny position. It can be propagated either by seed, or by dividing its rootstock every 3 to 4 years. It establishes slowly, but forms large clumps over time, and is hardy in USDA Zone 6. The cultivar 'Major' has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
