About Anthaxia nitidula (Linnaeus, 1758)
Anthaxia nitidula (Linnaeus, 1758) adult beetles measure 5–7 millimetres (0.20–0.28 in) in length and act as pollinators. Males of this species have a completely metallic green body. In contrast, females have a red head and pronotum, with green elytra. The wood-boring larvae of this beetle primarily use host plants from three genera: Amygdalus, Crataegus, and Prunus. This species can be found across most of Europe, the eastern Palearctic realm, the Near East, and North Africa.
