About Antennaria solitaria Rydb.
Antennaria solitaria Rydb., commonly called singlehead pussytoes, is a North American flowering plant species in the Asteraceae family. It occurs in the southeastern and east-central United States, ranging from Delaware and southern Pennsylvania west to southern Illinois, and south to Georgia and Louisiana. This species can sometimes grow up to 35 cm (14 inches) tall. Unlike many related species, its flower heads are borne singly instead of in clustered arrays of multiple heads. Male and female flowers grow on separate individual plants. Antennaria solitaria typically grows on slopes or streambanks within moist, rich forests.
