About Anoteropsis litoralis Vink, 2002

Anoteropsis litoralis can be told apart from other Anoteropsis species by its yellow dorsal surface marked with black patches, plus several distinct structural features in the reproductive organs of both males and females. Its specific colouration lets it camouflage easily against sand. This spider lives in coastal sand dune and beach habitats. It is found in these coastal habitats north of 44°S in New Zealand. Most habitats south of this latitude are typically occupied instead by Anoteropsis forsteri, a closely related similar species.
