About Anolis smaragdinus Barbour & Shreve, 1935
Anolis smaragdinus, described by Barbour & Shreve in 1935 and commonly known as the Bahamian green anole, is a species of lizard belonging to the family Dactyloidae. This species is native and endemic to the Bahamas. Two subspecies of Anolis smaragdinus are currently recognized. It can be found in a range of different habitats, including forests, shrublands, and areas of introduced vegetation. Anolis smaragdinus reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is oviparous.
