Anolis serranoi (Köhler, 1999) has several distinguishing physical traits: it possesses long hind limbs, a divided prenasal scale, and adult males of the species have a red dewlap. This anole lives at altitudes up to 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) along the Pacific coast of Central America. Its geographic range extends from Chiapas, Mexico, through Guatemala, and into El Salvador. Anolis serranoi reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is oviparous.
