About Anolis pogus Lazell, 1972
Male Anolis pogus have a white throat flap, and both sexes have dark green vertical bars across the back. Females of this species do not have a flank stripe. The scales located below the eye can be blue, brick red, or white. In the type series, the largest males measured 50 mm (2.0 in), while the largest females measured 42 mm (1.7 in). Currently, Anolis pogus is restricted to the island of Saint Martin, which is split between the Collectivity of Saint Martin and the Dutch constituent country of Sint Maarten. It was last recorded in Anguilla in 1922, and it may have also once occurred on Saint Barthélemy. On Saint Martin, this species is abundant in vegetated uplands, though it can be found across the entire island.
