Anolis acutus Hallowell, 1856, the species described here, has a uniform body color ranging from tan to olive. Their chinflaps are white, with a large yellowish-orange blotch located close to the body. On average, males of this species have a snout-vent length (SVL) of 67 mm, which equals 2.6 inches. Females of the species have an average SVL of around 49 mm, which equals 1.9 inches. This species is endemic to St. Croix island and the adjacent small islets of Buck Island, Protestant Cay, and Green Cay, all located in the United States Virgin Islands. It inhabits areas including dry to mesic forest, pastures with scattered trees, and residential areas.
