About Annona crassiflora Mart.

Annona crassiflora Mart., commonly known as marolo, is a tree belonging to the Annonaceae family. It grows to around 6–8 meters tall, with a crown diameter that can reach 2–4 meters. This species occurs in discontinuous populations across the Brazilian cerrado. It favors savannah regions with a lower moisture deficit. Its known distribution includes the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais, where its fruit is considered typical and widely appreciated, Mato Grosso do Sul, a small portion of inland São Paulo, isolated areas of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Maranhão, and eastern Bahia.
