Anisotome filifolia (Hook.fil.) Cockayne & Laing is a small plant that reaches a maximum height of 30 centimeters, and produces very thin pinnae. This species is only found in the South Island of New Zealand. In its ecosystem, the rust fungus Puccinia namua grows exclusively on Anisotome filifolia, and hares browse on this plant.
