About Anigozanthos bicolor Endl.

This rhizomatous plant, Anigozanthos bicolor Endl., typically grows between 0.05 and 0.6 meters (2.0 inches to 1 foot 11.6 inches) tall. It blooms in spring, from August to October, and produces flowers that range in color from green to yellow and red. This species is distributed along Australia's west coast: it occurs from the Northam and Moora region in the north down to the Albany area in the south. It also has a discontinuous distribution eastward along the south coast, extending as far as Cape Arid. It most commonly grows in damp areas, areas that stay wet through winter, around granite outcrops, or along road verges. It grows in clay, loam, or sandy soils over granite or laterite, and occurs as part of open forest or low heathland plant communities.
