Angelica genuflexa Nutt. is a species of angelica commonly called kneeling angelica. It is native to northwestern North America, ranging from Alaska to northern California. In this region, it grows in moist areas of coniferous forests, including streambanks. It is a taprooted perennial herb that grows an erect, hollow stem reaching 1 to 2 meters in height. Its leaves can grow up to 80 centimeters long, and are composed of many dissected, toothed leaflets, with each leaflet reaching up to 10 centimeters in length. Its inflorescence takes the form of a compound umbel with up to 50 rays that hold clusters of small flowers.
