About Andrena auricoma Smith, 1879

Andrena auricoma, commonly called the golden-haired miner bee, is a miner bee species belonging to the family Andrenidae. Females of this species measure 8 to 10 millimeters in length, while males range from 6 to 9 millimeters in length. This bee occurs in the western United States, and it is relatively uncommon in regions outside of California. It closely resembles the death camas miner bee, Andrena astragali, but is smaller in size.
