About Ancylis selenana (Guenée, 1845)

Ancylis selenana is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. Within Europe, its distribution ranges from southern Sweden and Finland in the north, south to France and Italy, and east to the Balkan Peninsula. Outside of Europe, this moth occurs from Asia Minor through southern Siberia to Korea. Its wingspan measures 10–15 mm. In Germany and Poland, adult moths are active in two distinct broods: first from April to May, and again from July to August, meaning this region sees two generations per year. In southern Europe, populations can have up to five generations each year. The larvae of Ancylis selenana feed on host plants including Crataegus, Prunus cerasus vulgaris, Prunus avium, Prunus virginiana, Prunus spinosa, Prunus domestica, Prunus armeniaca, Malus, and Pyrus. The larvae cause damage to the leaves of their host plants.
