Anaxipha exigua was first described by Say in 1825. It is a species of cricket belonging to the genus Anaxipha, commonly called "brown trigs", and the subfamily Trigonidiinae, which is known as "winged bush crickets, trigs". This species has two common names: "Say's trig" and "Say's bush cricket". Its known distribution range covers the Caribbean and North America.
