About Anarsia epiula Meyrick, 1904

Anarsia epiula is a species of moth that belongs to the family Gelechiidae. It was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1904. This moth is found in the Australian states of New South Wales and Queensland. Its wingspan measures approximately 14 millimeters, or 0.55 inches. The forewings of Anarsia epiula are fuscous, sprinkled with white scales and broadly suffused with white towards the costa, with a small number of scattered dark fuscous scales. There are several indistinct oblique dark markings along the costa, and an elongated semi-oval blackish-fuscous spot runs along the central portion of the costa. There is also an elongated blackish-fuscous spot in the center of the disc, and a dark fuscous dot located in the disc three-quarters of the way along the wing. The hindwings are whitish fuscous, becoming paler and semitransparent in their anterior section.
