About Anadevidia peponis (Fabricius, 1775)
This moth species, Anadevidia peponis, has a wingspan of approximately 40 millimeters. Its palpi have a short third segment, and the hind femur of male individuals does not have a tuft of long hair. The body is greyish brown and lacks a rosy tint. Forewings have bronze patches rather than coppery ones, and the postmedial line on the forewings is sinuous. The larva is greenish with black lateral spots. Short, black pointed spines run along its back, and these spines are stoutest on the 4th to 7th and 11th body somites. A prominent, wavy white sub-dorsal line and a prominent wavy white lateral line are present on the larva. Eggs are white and spherical. The larvae feed on species in the Cucurbitaceae plant family, including Citrullus lanatus, Cucumis sativus, Cucurbita moschata, Cucurbita pepo, Momordica charantia, Sechium edule, and Trichosanthes cucumerina.
