About Anacampsis levipedella (Clemens, 1863)

Anacampsis levipedella is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. It was first described by James Brackenridge Clemens in 1863. This moth is found in North America, and has been officially recorded in the following US states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The forewings of Anacampsis levipedella are dark brownish and marked with a cupreous line. The apical half of the forewing is darker in color than the basal half. Around the middle of the wing's costa, there is a short, oblique white streak. A second white streak of the same color sits between this first streak and the wing tip; this second streak is perpendicular to the costa and has an approximately triangular shape. Below the first costal streak are two short, longitudinal white dashes, one located on each side of the wing fold. Two additional parallel white dashes of the same color sit below the second costal streak. The hindwings of this moth are dark brownish.
