About Anacampsis coverdalella Kearfott, 1903
Anacampsis coverdalella, commonly known as Coverdale's anacampsis, is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This moth is found in the United States, with confirmed records from thirteen states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. The wingspan of adult Anacampsis coverdalella ranges from 10 to 11.5 millimeters. The forewings of the moth have distinct color patterning. The base of the forewings, extending from the costa to the inner margin, is dark purplish-brown. The region from the base to the outer fourth of the forewing is canary yellow, and the outer fourth matches the dark purplish-brown color of the base. Both dividing lines between the colored regions run vertically from the costa to the inner margin, and are slightly serrated. The yellow coloring along the costa is a paler shade than the yellow found below the median line of the forewing. The hindwings of this species are fuscous.
