About Anacampseros arachnoides (Haw.) Sims

Anacampseros arachnoides (Haw.) Sims grows slender, erect stems that reach 5 cm (2.0 inches) tall. Its leaves are hairy, compact, and densely arranged in a 2/5 spiral; by contrast, the leaves of the related species Anacampseros albidiflora and Anacampseros filamentosa are generally arranged in a 3/8 spiral. Each leaf is ovoid, with approximately equal thickness and width. Individual leaves measure 20 mm (0.79 in) long by 15 mm (0.59 in) wide, and each has a tiny acute point. Flowers of this species range from pink to white. This species is distributed in the Little Karoo region of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa, and can also be found just north of this area, on the southern edge of the Great Karoo.
