About Amyema pendula (Sieber ex DC.) Tiegh.
Amyema pendula (Sieber ex DC.) Tiegh., commonly called drooping mistletoe or furry drooping mistletoe, is a species of flowering epiphytic hemiparasitic plant in the family Loranthaceae. This species is endemic to south-eastern Australia, and it is the most common mistletoe in Victoria, particularly found on the coastal side of the Great Dividing Range. It grows attached to several species of Australian eucalypt, and occasionally grows on some species of Acacia. It has shiny leaves and red flowers that grow in groups of 3 or 4. It can be told apart from the similar species Amyema miquelii by the lack of individual stalks on its flowers. Two subspecies are recognized: A. pendula subsp. pendula, which has short flower stalks and anthers and occurs east of the Great Dividing Range, and A. pendula subsp. longifolia, which has longer stalks and anthers and occurs west of the range in inland areas.
