About Ameerega picta (Tschudi, 1838)

Ameerega picta, commonly known as the spot-legged poison frog, was previously classified under the name Epipedobates picta. It is a species of dendrobatid frog that occurs in Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, and Venezuela. For reproduction, female spot-legged poison frogs lay their eggs on the ground. Once the eggs hatch, adult frogs carry the hatched tadpoles to a body of water.
