About Ambrosia chenopodiifolia (Benth.) W.W.Payne

Ambrosia chenopodiifolia is a densely branching shrub that reaches a maximum height of over 3 meters. Its leaves are oval-shaped, grow up to 3 centimeters long, are covered in white hairs, and may sometimes be lobed. Like other ragweeds, this species is monoecious. Each inflorescence holds clusters of pistillate (female) flower heads positioned below a cluster of staminate (male) flowers. The inflorescence is spiny, particularly when it develops fruit. The fruit of this plant is a spherical, woolly bur that measures around half a centimeter long and is covered in hooked spines.
