About Amblygobius decussatus (Bleeker, 1855)
Amblygobius decussatus, commonly called the orange-striped goby, is a species of goby. This species is originally found on tropical reefs in the western Pacific Ocean, and it may also be widespread throughout the central Indo-Pacific area. It prefers habitats with muddy substrates, where it shelters inside invertebrate burrows. It feeds by sifting mouthfuls of sand to eat the organic matter and small invertebrates found within the sand. This species grows to a maximum total length of 9.5 centimetres (3.7 inches) measured along its standard length. Amblygobius decussatus is also sold in the aquarium trade.
