The shell of Amblychilepas oblonga ranges in size from 19.6 mm to 25.9 mm. The shell is oblong-elliptical and convex, with rounded anterior and posterior margins that slightly curve or ascend upward. Its surface is densely covered in faint radial ridges, which are intersected by concentric striations.
