About Amblychilepas oblonga (Menke, 1843)

The shell of Amblychilepas oblonga ranges in size from 19.6 mm to 25.9 mm. The shell is oblong-elliptical and convex, with rounded anterior and posterior margins that slightly curve or ascend upward. Its surface is densely covered in faint radial ridges, which are intersected by concentric striations. The shell is predominantly pink in color, with a pale area surrounding the large, ovate-oblong aperture. This marine species is endemic to Australia, where it is found off the coasts of South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia. It also occurs off the coast of Papua New Guinea.
