About Alydus eurinus (Say, 1825)

Alydus eurinus (Say, 1825) is mostly dark in color, with lighter markings sometimes visible on its legs and abdomen. It has no colored markings on the side of its head, and fine hairs cover its entire body. The posterior corners of its pronotum plate are rounded; this distinguishes it from the similar species Alydus pilosulus, which has more angular pronotum corners. Alydus eurinus has dark wings that bear many longitudinal veins, a feature that sets it apart from the morphologically similar bug family Lygaeidae.
