This moth occurs in eastern Australia, ranging from Atherton Tableland, Queensland, south to Batemans Bay, New South Wales. Adult individuals of this species have a wingspan of approximately 10 millimeters. The larvae of Alucita phricodes feed on the buds and flowers of two plant species: Pandorea jasminoides and Pandorea pandorana.
