Alloclinus is a monotypic genus of blennies that belongs to the family Labrisomidae, meaning it contains only one single species. This species is Alloclinus holderi, which is commonly known by the common name the island kelpfish. Alloclinus holderi is a subtropical fish species that is native to the eastern Pacific Ocean, where its range extends from Santa Cruz Island, California, to Baja California. This species lives in rocky habitats, and can be found at depths of up to around 49 meters (161 feet). Members of this species can grow to a maximum total length of 10 centimeters (3.9 inches). The species specific name honors Charles Frederick Holder (1851-1915), an American naturalist, conservationist and author.
