About Alcippe nipalensis (Hodgson, 1837)

The Nepal fulvetta (scientific name Alcippe nipalensis) is also called the Nepal alcippe, because true fulvettas are not closely related to this species. It is a bird species that belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Two subspecies of Alcippe nipalensis are currently recognised. The first subspecies is A. n. nipalensis, originally described by Hodggson, BH in 1837, and it ranges from the central and eastern Himalayas to northern Myanmar. The second subspecies is A. n. stanfordi, described by Ticehurst, CB in 1930, which is found in the hill forests of southwestern Myanmar, specifically the Chin Hills and Arakan Mountains.
