Alcippe morrisonia Swinhoe, 1863 is a 15-centimeter long bird. It has a grey head with a white eye ring, and a long black eye stripe that runs from the bill down the sides of the neck. Its upperparts are olive-colored, while its underparts are yellow. It produces a weak call that sounds like chi-chi-chu-chui. This species readily joins mixed-species feeding flocks. It is a year-round resident that lives across Taiwan, where it occurs in evergreen mountain forests.
