About Alcippe fratercula Rippon, 1900

The Yunnan fulvetta, scientifically known as Alcippe fratercula, is a bird species belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. This species is endemic to southern China, southeastern Myanmar, and northern Indochina. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Three subspecies of Alcippe fratercula are currently recognized. The first is A. f. yunnanensis Harington, HH, 1913, which ranges from southern China (southern Sichuan and eastern Yunnan) to northeastern Myanmar (Kachin). The second is A. f. fratercula Rippon, G, 1900, found from central Myanmar to southern China, northern Thailand, and northwestern Laos. The third is A. f. laotiana Delacour, JT, 1926, which occurs in north-central and central Laos, and north-central Vietnam.
