The brown fulvetta, with the scientific name Alcippe brunneicauda (Salvadori, 1879), is a bird species that belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. This species is distributed in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and it is currently threatened by habitat loss. Two recognized subspecies exist: A. b. brunneicauda (Salvadori, 1879), which occurs in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and the Batu Islands; and A. b. eriphaea (Oberholser, 1922), which occurs in Borneo and the northern Natuna Islands.
