About Albizia harveyi E.Fourn.
Albizia harveyi E.Fourn. grows as either a multi-stemmed shrub or a small tree; when it grows as a tree, it can reach a height of 15 meters. Its bark and stems are greyish to brown, and are covered in short velvety hairs. The leaves are bipinnately compound. Each leaf has up to 18 pairs of pinnae, and each pinna has up to 24 leaflets. Leaflets are oblong, 6 mm long, and up to 1.5 mm wide, with an apex that ranges from acute to sickle-shaped. The flowers are creamy white, and the fruit is an oblong brownish, many-seeded pod. This species is native to eastern and southern Africa, where it occurs from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya southward to northern South Africa. It grows in woodlands. Its wood is used for building poles and as firewood.
