Aiolopus thalassinus (Fabricius, 1781) is a species of grasshopper that belongs to the subfamily Oedipodinae of the family Acrididae. This species can be found in many European countries, though it is not present in the British Isles. Its range also extends from the Afrotropical realm through Asia to Pacific islands. The body colouration of Aiolopus thalassinus generally ranges from light clear brown to dark brown. Females of this species measure between 21 and 29 millimetres in length, while males measure between 15 and 19 millimetres.
