About Agriophara confertella Walker, 1864
Agriophara confertella is a species of moth belonging to the family Depressariidae. It was first described by Francis Walker in 1864. This species is native to Australia, with recorded populations in Queensland, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory. The adult moth has a wingspan of approximately 27 millimeters. Its forewings are whitish, with a partial pale grey tint, and are finely speckled (irrorated) with blackish coloring across the entire surface. An oblique, fascia-shaped brown spot extends from the costa (leading edge of the wing) at about one-third of the wing length; this spot widens towards the lower part of the wing, reaching below the middle of the disc, and contains a blackish suffusion near its lower end. A roundish brown blotch sits in the wing disc at about three-fourths of the wing length; this blotch contains a lengthwise suffused blackish streak, and merges at its rear with a smaller brown blotch located in the middle of the hindmargin. A sinuate fuscous line runs from the middle of the costa to the center of the three-fourths blotch. An indistinct denticulate blackish-fuscous line runs from two-thirds of the costa to the inner margin just before the anal angle; this line curves very strongly outwards to sit close to the wing margin along its entire length, and is followed on the costa by two to three small spots of brownish suffusion. The hindwings are fuscous, and are somewhat lighter in color towards the anterior end.
