About Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb.
Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. is a perennial herb with an erect stem that reaches 30–120 cm (12–47 in) in height. It grows along roadsides or in grassy areas at a wide range of altitudes, and can thrive in light sandy, loamy, or heavy soils. It grows properly in either acidic or basic alkaline soils. This species has many lateral roots, and its short rhizome is usually tuberous. Stems are yellowish green or green; the upper stem is sparsely pubescent and pilose, while the lower stem has dense hairs. Leaves are green, alternate, and odd-pinnate, with two to four pairs of leaflets. Upper leaves have only three leaflets total. Leaf blades are oval, edged with uniformly sized pointed teeth, and measure 3–6 cm (1.2–2.4 in) long by 1.5–3.5 cm (0.59–1.38 in) wide, with hairs on both sides. In traditional medicine, Agrimonia pilosa is used in Korea to treat boils, eczema, and taeniasis, a tapeworm infection. In Nepal and China, it is traditionally used to treat abdominal pain, sore throat, headaches, and heat stroke.
