Agonum punctiforme (Say, 1823) measures between 8.0 and 8.25 mm in length. Its body is black, and its legs are dark red. The elytra are striated, and it has 11 antennomeres. This species is found throughout North America, with a recorded range spanning from California to Florida, north to Ontario, and south to Colorado. It also occurs in Mexico and the Bahamas.
