About Agonopterix propinquella (Treitschke, 1835)

Agonopterix propinquella is a moth species that belongs to the Depressariidae family. This species is found in Europe. Its wingspan measures 16–19 mm. It is similar in appearance to Agonopterix subpropinquella. Adult moths are active from September to July, with the timing varying based on location. The larvae of Agonopterix propinquella feed on host plants including Arctium, Carduus, Centaurea, Cirsium arvense, Cirsium vulgare, Cynara, Mycelis muralis, and Serratula. When young, the larvae create mines inside the leaves of their host plant. Larvae can be found from July to early August, and they have an apple green body with a black head.
