About Agonopterix liturosa Haworth, 1811

Agonopterix liturosa (Haworth, 1811) is a moth species belonging to the family Depressariidae. This species is distributed across most of Europe, excluding most of the Balkan Peninsula; it also occurs in the Near East and the eastern portion of the Palearctic realm. Its wingspan measures 17 to 20 millimetres (0.67 to 0.79 inches). It has purple-brown forewings, and a buff-colored thorax and head. It is similar in appearance to two other species: Agonopterix purpurea and Agonopterix conterminella. Adult Agonopterix liturosa are active on the wing between July and August. The larvae of this moth feed on plant species in the genus Hypericum. Larvae can be found from May to June.
